Mike Napoli has been "claimed off waivers" by the Red Sox.To lose Napoli is to lose a good bit of the fire that the Angels have.
To lose him to the Red Sox is just heartbreaking. They do not deserve him.
As I understand it, the Angels have until midnight Monday to make a deal with the Sox for Mike, or decide to keep him around.
Here's hoping they make the right decision.
I may have over-reacted a bit since it's become apparent that this kind of stuff, with no real intent to actually trade a player, happens all of the time.
ReplyDeleteEven if that is the case, though, I like Mike Napoli as an Angel, and hope he stays there.
And, just in case anyone cares, I really wish they'd start calling themselves the CALIFORNIA Angels again. A team's whole name should be able to fit on their uniforms, and "Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim" is just too much. I guess someone liked it, though.
